On the second day of the second phase of the World Ijtema organized by the Tabligh Jamaat on the banks of the Turag river in Tongir, the narration in the light of the Holy Quran and Hadith is going on for millions of Muslims from home and abroad. This narration started after Fajr prayer on Saturday (February 10).
Tongir’s Ijtema Maidan is already filled to the brim. The last prayer will be on Sunday (February 11). This trickle will continue till the prayer.
The worshipers are engaged in full-time worship for two days. Every day from Fajr to Isha, Ambayan is held on faith, deeds, morals and hard work in the path of religion.
After Fajr on Saturday, Maulana Saeed bin Saad of India gave a speech, Mufti Osama Islam translated it into Bengali. India’s Maulana Abdul Azim will talk to Halka Muallems at 10:30 am. India’s Maulana Sharif will speak after the Zohar prayer. Bengali translation will be done by Maulana Mahmudullah.
Maulana Osman of Pakistan will speak after Asr prayer. Bengali translation will be done by Maulana Azim Uddin. Dowryless marriage will be taught after the speech.
Mufti Yakub of India will speak after the Maghrib prayer. Maulana Monir bin Yusuf will translate the Bengali version.
Besides, Mufti Maqsood of India will speak after Fajr on Sunday. Bengali translation will be done by Maulana Abdullah. Maulana Yusuf bin Saad of India will direct the words of guidance and prayers after the speech. Bayan will be translated into Bengali by Maulana Monir bin Yusuf.
Mohammad Sayem, media coordinator for the second phase of the World Ijtema, confirmed the matter.
He said that final prayers can be held between 10 am and 10:30 am on Sunday.
Tashkil
To the north-west of the Ijtema pandal is placed the room of the Tashkil. Besides, a special place has been kept for Tashkil in each Khita. Those who wish to go out on the path of Allah have registered their names and are staying there for different periods. According to the decision of the tutors of Kakrail Mosque, they will be sent to different areas of the country to work on religion.
Foreign pilgrims in Ijtema
On the second day of the second phase of Ijtema, about six and a half thousand foreign pilgrims came from more than 54 countries of the world, including Jordan, Libya, Africa, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Palestine, USA, Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, until Saturday morning. Guests are accommodated in 4 tents on the grounds according to language and continent. These include English Khima, Urdu Khima, Arabic Khima and Bengali Khima.
Safety and traffic
On the occasion of last prayer, the police has controlled the traffic.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner. Mahbub Alam said that all traffic will be closed from Saturday midnight to Sunday afternoon from Chandana Chowrasta on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway to Tongi, from Mirebazar to Station Road on Tongi-Kaliganj road, from Kamarpara to Ashulia and from the airport to Tongi Bridge.
He said that the surrounding area including Ijtema Maidan is under tight security. Sufficient members of various intelligence agencies are present inside and outside the pandal. Apart from this, the entire Ijtema Maidan has been covered with a security blanket with around 7,000 law enforcement personnel.

The official of Tongir railway station said that on the occasion of Akheri Monajat, the railway has arranged special trains on different routes. All trains will stop at Tongi station before and after prayer. Additional toilets and fresh water have been arranged at Tongi Railway Junction keeping in mind the passengers coming for Ijtema.
Free medical services at Ijtema Maidan
To provide medical services to millions of pilgrims coming to the World Ijtema, various institutions are providing free healthcare to the pilgrims in the second phase as well as in the first phase. In addition, at the private level, more than half a hundred voluntary organizations are providing health care to thousands of worshipers every day.
In 1946, the first Ijtema was organized at Kakrail Mosque. In 1966, Biswa Ijtema was shifted to its present Maidan on the banks of the Turag River in Tongir, Gazipur.
The first phase of Biswa Ijtema ended on Sunday, February 4, starting on February 2. On February 9 with a break of 4 days, the followers of Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz (Maulana Sadpanthi) are participating in the second phase of Vishwa Ijtema. This year’s World Ijtema will conclude with the last prayer on February 11.
