In Tbilisi, a group of unknown persons attacked those protesting the adoption of the law “On transparency of foreign influence”.

It is noted that the attack took place on May 2 near the city circus, located near the Heroes’ Square, where the action was held. The TV channel emphasizes that 5 cars arrived at the scene, about 20 people got out and started beating the protesters.
According to the witnesses, the attackers hit the participants in the head and kicked those who were lying on the ground. The TV channel claims that at least 5 people were injured.
Before that, police officers in Tbilisi started detaining those protesting the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence”. Protesters blocked the road leading to Heroes’ Square and Rustaveli Avenue.
On May 1, the Georgian parliament adopted the law “On transparency of foreign influence” in the second reading. 83 deputies voted in favor and 23 deputies voted against. The article-by-article discussion of the law continued for two days. The law will be considered in the third reading in two weeks.
