The signature sheets of 4 more persons whose candidacy for the presidency has been approved have been submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC).
Publika.az informs that the signature sheets of Fazil Mustafa, the presidential candidate of the Great Establishment Party, Elshad Musayev, the presidential candidate of the Great Azerbaijan Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, the presidential candidate of the All-Azerbaijan People’s Front Party, and Fuad Aliyev, who was nominated by himself, were submitted to the CEC along with the required documents.
It should be noted that the signature sheets of Zahid Oruj, whose candidacy was nominated by himself, and Razi Nurullayev, the presidential candidate of the National Front Party, were submitted to the election body.
It should be noted that 17 people have been nominated for the presidency so far.
On December 19, the CEC approved the nomination of Ilham Aliyev for the presidency by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party. On December 26, YAP submitted the signature sheets with 50,000 voter signatures collected for Ilham Aliyev’s defense to the CEC along with other documents required under Article 58.1 of the Election Code. Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for the presidency was registered at the CEC meeting held on December 30.

At the CEC meeting held on December 26, the issue of approving the candidacy of Sarvan Karimov, Matlab Mutallimli, Abutalib Samadov, Fikret Yusifov, Yusif Bagyrzadeh, Arzuman Abdulkerimov, Yunus Oguz and Gulamhuseyn Alibeyli, who were nominated by himself, was put to a vote. On December 30, the nomination of candidate Safarov was confirmed.
On December 31 of last year, the nomination of Avaz Temirkha, whose candidacy was nominated by himself, was approved at the CEC meeting.
Extraordinary presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024.
