The shortage of medicines in IPS decreases, they say

The Health Manager of the Social Security Institute, Gustavo González, stated that the percentage of missing medications decreases daily, because the companies awarded in the tenders continue with their distribution.

González responded in this way to the complaints of the insured, who continue to report the lack of medicines in the pension plan, although he acknowledged that 100% of those that appear in the basic list of shortages are not yet available.

On 1020 AM, the manager said that “about 100 items were delivered; “We still have a good amount that they have to deliver to us, and there are other pending tenders where we will receive more products, but with more time.”

“The drugs are for different pathologies, including the most complex ones such as oncology, basic ones such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, even basic supplies such as gloves and syringes,” he added.

Although he did not want to give a percentage of what is still missing, he responded that “it is decreasing, I cannot say exactly how we are because we receive daily and it is dynamic. “We are trying to prioritize medicines that cover more people and for a longer period of time.”
