The Saudi Ministry of Commerce seized 600 barrels of adulterated car oils weighing 270 liters, packed and ready for sale by illegal workers in Al-Kharj Governorate in the Riyadh region, along with 5,000 stickers bearing the marks of well-known companies, according to a statement issued by the ministry today.

The Ministry stated, according to the statement, that the supervisory teams caught illegal workers practicing commercial fraud by refilling used car oils, and hiding them in a warehouse that had been converted into “sheep farms” in an attempt to camouflage themselves and hide from the eyes of oversight.

The seizures included 600 barrels weighing 270 liters, filled and ready for sale, and about 70 empty barrels, in addition to 60 filled tanks of used oils, 5,000 stickers bearing the marks of well-known companies, 1,000 bottle caps, and tools and machines used in fraud and printing incorrect data.

The supervisory teams monitored a suspected case of commercial concealment, closed the site in cooperation with the security authorities and civil defense, and referred the violators to complete the implementation of the regulatory procedures against them, in accordance with the provisions of the anti-commercial fraud system and the anti-concealment system.

The Ministry confirmed that it will confront violators of the anti-commercial fraud system and apply statutory penalties against them, as the system stipulates the imposition of penalties of up to 3 years in prison, financial fines of up to one million riyals or both, and defamation of violators.
