The billion-dollar construction will also include a re-routing of I/16 with a turbo roundabout.
The Roads and Highways Directorate (ŘSD) has applied for a construction permit for the westernmost and northernmost section of the D35 motorway, the motorway bypass of the village of Úlibice in Jičínsk. RSD wants to start construction next year.
The new Office for Construction, Transport and Energy (DESÚ), established on 1 January as a new body that deals with land management and construction permits for the most important infrastructures, takes the lead in issuing motorway construction permits. transport and energy. Some highway constructions have already appeared in the official board of the office, but they were only parts of them or took over their management. The Úlibice village bypass is the first completely new highway construction that will be tackled.
From January the construction of motorways and railways will be handled by a new superoffice with more than one hundred people
The new route of the motorway will be 1.6 kilometers long, its main part will be the junction at the northern end of the town, which will solve the connection to the I/35 and I/16 roads and, in the future, to the new route of the road I/35 from Turnovo. On the other side it connects to the Úlibice – Hořice section, which has had construction permission since last year.
ØSD has a building permit for another part of the D35. The Úlibice – Hořice section wants to start work next year
The estimated cost of the construction is 1,071 billion crowns, part of which also concerns the realignment of the existing road I/16. The existing road I/35 from the roundabout through the village to the connection with the D35 will eventually be reassigned to road network II. class, i.e. road II/635. The crossing of the I/16 road is designed in category S 20.75/90 with a length of 845 meters, it will lead to 55 meters from the existing road alignment. A spiral turbo roundabout with a diameter of 60 meters will be built on it. Separate bus stops will be added as part of the realignment, including a pedestrian underpass and a cycle lane. Around 22,000 vehicles will pass through the existing intersection every day.
The construction is described in detail in the information sheet.
