Middleton emphasized in a recorded video speech that the test results shocked her. The princess stated that the past months had been “very difficult”.

She also included a positive message in her speech: “I feel good and every day I am stronger”. The speech was filmed on Wednesday, March 20.

Further details of the illness have not been released, but Kensington Palace stressed that the princess is likely to make a full recovery. The princess stated that no signs of cancer were detected during the abdominal surgery.

“But the tests done after the surgery confirmed that the cancer was there. My doctors recommended that I undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy and I have started treatment,” said Middleton.
