The robber jumps onto the counter of a pizzeria, threatens with a knife and demands money

“Open, open, rhythm!” With these words, last October, the robber of a pizzeria in Veldhoven put the knife to the throat of an employee. The man had a large knife and jumped onto the counter. The shocked employee gave him money from the cash register. Images of this brutal robbery can be seen on Monday in Bureau Brabant, the investigative program of Omroep Brabant.

The pizzeria in Burgemeester van Hoofflaan was targeted on 2 October. The broadcast shows that a man arrives on a white scooter around ten in the evening. He parks the vehicle and then comes across the business. He immediately jumps onto the counter and threatens an employee with a large knife.

Meanwhile he shouts in an urgent tone: “Open, open, over!” It’s clear: the busy, gesticulating man is looking for the contents of the cash register. The employee does his best to give the robber the right of way so as not to get him “even more excited,” according to police.

The robber doesn’t just snatch the banknotes out of the staff member’s hands. He is also given the cash register drawer, but he throws it to the floor and runs away.

The police obviously want to know who the perpetrator is. In any case, he is a thin man with noticeably long legs. His face is barely visible because he is partially masked. There may be people who recognize the thief’s voice.
