The MBBS admission test for the academic year 2023-24 has ended. The one-hour exam started at 10 am on Friday (February 9) and lasted till 11 pm. The examination was held simultaneously in 44 venues of 19 examination centers of the country.
Director of Health Education Department (Medical Education) Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Matubbar told the media that the results of the MBBS admission test may be published next Sunday (February 11).
He said that this time 1 lakh 4 thousand 374 students have participated in the examination. Everything related to results will be prepared on Saturday.
Among the 19 centers of this year’s MBBS admission test, five centers were in Dhaka, 14 outside Dhaka. 1 lakh 4 thousand 374 applicants have applied for admission against 5 thousand 380 seats in 37 government medical colleges and 6 thousand 295 seats in 67 medical colleges approved at private level.

According to the information of the Directorate of Health Education, there are a total of 5,380 seats in the government medical colleges of the country in the session 2023-24. According to that, about 19 people will fight for each seat. And there are 6 thousand 168 private medical seats. In all, students participated in the admission war for 11 thousand 548 seats. In that case, about 9 students are fighting for each seat.
The minimum marks (pass mark) in the MBBS and BDS admission test has been kept at 40 like last time. Students will get three times for migration. All colleges have been kept open for private medical admissions. That is, students can give their choice in all colleges at once, the same rule is maintained in government medical colleges as well.
Apart from this, 10 marks will be deducted for second time admission students who are enrolled in public and private medical and dental colleges. The district quota has been canceled in the admission test this academic year. If the seats in Muktijoddha quota are not filled within the stipulated time, ordinary students will get admission in those seats.
