On Sunday evening, unknown men made serious threats to residents of Bernard Beekmansstraat in Best. One of them fired a firearm into the air and the windows of the front door were shattered. The police are looking for the suspects.
Applause
Over the course of the night, the inhabitants of a house in Bernard Beekmansstraat were visited twice by unknown persons. Around 1 am a man showed up at the door of the house and threatened the resident. He was hit and the windows of his front door were shattered. The resident managed to close the door of the house and the man then fled. He got in with a second man who was waiting in the car in front of the house.
Second accident
Around 2.30am two men entered the house and threatened those present. They also showed a firearm. Since the previously threatened man was not present at the time, the two left again. Outside, in the street, the gun was fired once again into the air. Nobody was injured.
Fireworks
Police say they are taking the matter “very seriously” and have launched an investigation. The latest incidents may have been caused by an altercation that occurred shortly after midnight. The man then approached a group of young people who were lighting fireworks right in front of his house. The youths also threw fireworks at the resident before he ran away. Also in this case no one was injured.
The police are checking, among other things, whether there are usable camera images and a technical investigation is being conducted. Police are also looking for witnesses.
A brief description of the two men is known. The first man has a slim build and a narrow face. He was wearing a dark sweater, jeans and a cap. The other man had a black hoodie.
