The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the date of the 2025 Nations Cup in Morocco.

Publika.az informs that the tournament will take place between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026. However, earlier the competition was supposed to be held in the summer.

“I am sure that the tournament in Morocco will be extremely successful and will be the best in history. The announcement of the dates took much longer than expected due to complex discussions with various stakeholders against the backdrop of a large schedule of international and domestic games. CAF is committed to protecting and promoting the interests of African players playing for football clubs in Europe and around the world.

CAF also seeks to build mutually beneficial relationships with ECA, UEFA, FIFA and other football confederations. We will continue to make significant progress in ensuring that African football is globally competitive and among the best in the world,” said confederation president Patrice Motsepe.

It should be noted that European clubs were in favor of holding the tournament in June-July. The reason for this was that in the middle of the season, many football players were away from their teams for 1 month and this affected them.
