“HIGH TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH” PARK

With the IKE “GERAX” which today shows a share capital of only five thousand euros, the Region of Epirus will proceed with the construction project of the High Research and Technology Park after the withdrawal of the fifty million project from the Recovery Fund.

The service committee that had been set up proposes the cancellation of the international tender for the “awarding of the concession contract for the construction of the Park” since no offer was submitted.

At the same time, it is proposed to carry out a new award procedure without publishing a notice, but by sending an invitation to tender to the economic operator “GERAX IKE” in compliance with the terms of the notice.

Next Monday, the Regional Committee of Epirus will be asked to approve this new procedure, which will be accompanied by an invitation to submit an offer to the interested economic entity, namely the GERAX company.

The company in question is essentially a company with a short lifespan, a small share capital (5000 euros) and a minimal annual turnover. And the question is reasonable: How can such a company undertake such a large project?

The invitation to tender for the award of the concession contract has now been drawn up and upon its approval by the Regional Committee, since this is necessary, will be sent to the interested investors.

Among others, a letter of guarantee of eight million euros is requested, while the window of loan support from banks as well as financial and financial support from third parties remains open.
