The protest steps up: “a day of civil strike” throughout the country, protesters set a burning cage in Ayalon South

The protest organizations, which are working to overthrow the government and bring forward the elections, declared today (Thursday) as a “day of protest” during which a series of demonstrations, roadblocks and mass rallies will be held near the home of the government representatives. The coastal road was blocked in both directions at the construction bridge as part of the “day of the civil strike”. Demonstrators on the spot were heard shouting “the country is burning”, and huge traffic jams were recorded on the road.

Kidnapped families blocked the southbound Ayalon lanes in the Rokham Interchange area and set fire to a cage with the inscription “Rescue”. One of the families said: “The Prime Minister has given up on the abductees, as far as he is concerned, to bury them in Gaza as long as he keeps his seat. Because of the Prime Minister’s mismanagement, we are reaching a point where Israel no longer has leverage on Hamas for a deal. If a campaign is launched in the North before we end the war in the South And we return the abductees, Netanyahu will bury not only the abductees in Gaza – but the entire country.”

In the evening, demonstrations will be held in front of the homes of coalition members such as Minister Yoav Kish in Hod Hasharon, MK Yuli Edelstein in Kfar Shmarihu, Minister Amichai Shikli in Kibbutz Hanton and Minister Yariv Levin in Modi’in.

At 19:00 in the evening a protest vigil will also begin in front of the Histadrut House in Tel Aviv calling for the shutdown of the economy. Demonstrations will be held every week in front of the Prime Minister’s residences in Caesarea and Jerusalem.

“It is time to decide and return the mandate to the people,” said the headquarters of the “Free in our Land” struggle, adding that “when we are faced with huge challenges and in the most complex period that the State of Israel has known, we demand a responsible government that will win the trust of the people and work for the citizens of the country and not for its political survival. The first is setting a date for the elections and disbanding the Knesset in the current summer session.”
