The prospect of distrust in the parliament 1 in. am – 2024-05-11 00:36:19

What is the perspective of the process of no confidence in the Prime Minister, which was announced by the leader of the public movement, Bagrat, saying that the two factions of the opposition in the parliament expressed their readiness to start this process? According to the calculation, the support of not only two factions, but also about two dozen deputies of the ruling majority faction will be required to express no confidence. Is that support realistic?

At this point, it’s obviously not realistic. But it should also be kept in mind that the situation is unfolding and much will depend on the degree of public pressure. If it is weak, it is natural that the ranks of the ruling majority will be disorganized. Therefore, despite the parliamentary process, the decisive factor will certainly be the public process. On the other hand, you certainly don’t have to be naive to think that everything unfolds in the square.

And here it is not a question of conspiracism or excessive, unnecessary deliberation. Such are the political processes, they proceed either in open or closed regimes. Moreover, very often these modes may have current incompatibilities. 2018 was no exception. And for now, as I mentioned in the previous article, the main players from all sides are mostly operating in a closed game mode.

In that context, a piece of information spread the other day was quite remarkable. The US Embassy reported that Ambassador Quinn met with representatives of the parliamentary opposition faction of Armenia. Of course, it was not clear whether the meeting was initiated by the ambassador or by the parliamentary opposition. But, perhaps, there is no doubt that it was conditioned by the developments unfolding in Armenia.

And, even if the ambassador accepted the offer to meet with him, rather than initiating the meeting himself, the attention already shows that the ongoing process is subject to quite careful observation, according to that at least there is a situation when the apparent orientations still do not say nothing.
