Researchers have found that human-caused climate change is starting earlier than previously thought.

McCulloch and Winter, who say time is running out, say their data supports the theory that climate change is accelerating.
It was noted that one of the sampled sponges is over 320 years old. The researchers stated that these sponges would be a better measuring method than the tools of the industrial revolution era.
The researchers stated that the sponges record atmospheric carbon dioxide, water temperature and pH (hydrogen indicator) value, and said that sponges are difficult to find because they live in the ocean at a depth of 33-98 meters.
On the other hand, some scientists also point out that there are flaws in the research and question the reliability of the findings.
The research was published in the journal Nature Climate Change.
