The procedure for changing banknotes of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan is changing.
Publika.az reports that this was reflected in the bill on amending the law “On the Central Bank”.
According to the document, CBA
– unlimited exchange of currency tokens.
– pays the nominal value of a banknote consisting of a whole part or successive parts belonging to the same paper banknote, with not less than 60% of its surface and at least one of the 2 serial numbers on it intact.
– pays the nominal value of a banknote consisting of non-consecutive parts belonging to the same paper banknote, not less than 60% of its surface and fully retaining all 2 serial numbers on it.
– Pays the nominal value of a metal money token that has kept its images and inscriptions on its entire surface in a volume that allows to determine its denomination and has not undergone deformation.
– when it is determined that the presented banknote is fake, it does not change that banknote and does not pay its nominal value, does not return the fake banknote and sends it to the relevant state body (institution) for taking the measures determined by the legislation.
– does not change currency tokens in foreign currency.
In addition, the draft law states that the reproduction of banknotes is carried out in the manner determined by the CBA.
Banknotes made in violation of reproduction rules are considered counterfeit.
