The price of Orion infusion increased by Tk 232 crore in five days – 2024-04-29 00:00:21

Last week, out of the five working days that were traded in the country’s stock market, prices fell on four working days. In this, 85 percent of the companies have written their name in the price reduction list throughout the week. At the same time there was a big fall in the index. Orion Infusion has been a big surprise in price hikes in such a bearish market. In just five days, the company’s share price has collectively increased by more than Rs 232 crore. Which is 11.41 times more than the paid up capital of the company.

Over the past week, only 57 companies’ shares and units have entered the list of price increase in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the main stock market of the country. On the contrary, the price of 327 has decreased. Besides, the price of 10 remains unchanged. That is, 85.16 percent of the shares and unit prices of the institutions traded throughout the week have fallen. In this, DSE’s main price index DSEX decreased by 168.21 points or 2.96 percent.

Shares of Orion Infusion peaked in interest among a segment of investors in such a bearish market. In this, the main stock market, Dhaka Stock Exchange, has occupied the top position of increasing the price of this company. The company’s share price increased by 22.93 percent during the week.

The price of each share has increased by 114 taka 10 paise in terms of rupees. The share price of the company increased by 232 crore 30 lakh 48 thousand taka in a week. At the end of the last working day of the week, the share price of the company stood at 611 70 paise, which was 497 60 paise at the end of the last working day of the previous week.

The company, whose share price has soared, last paid out a 10 percent cash dividend to investors for the year ended June 30, 2023. Earlier, the company paid cash dividends of 20 percent in 2022, 10 percent in 2021, 10 percent in 2020 and 14 percent in 2019. According to the latest published financial report, the business profit per share for the period October-December 2023 was 1 taka 7 paise.

The company, which was listed in the stock market in 1994, has a paid-up capital of Tk 20 crore 36 lakh. The number of shares is 2 crore 3 lakh 59 thousand 760. 40.61 percent shares are held by entrepreneurs and managers. Of the remaining shares, common investors hold 53.54 percent. Institutional investors hold 5.77 percent and foreigners hold 0.8 percent.

After Orion Infusion, Kohinoor Chemical was on the price hike list last week. During the week, the share price of this company increased by 21.80 percent. Pharma Aid is next with a 17.95 percent price hike.

Besides, the price of E-Generation, which is in the list of top 10 companies with price increase last week, has increased by 17.46 percent. The price of IT consultant increased by 11.67 percent. Besides, the prices of RD Food increased by 10.67 percent, Prime Finance First Mutual Fund by 10.51 percent, Sasha Denims by 9.95 percent, Golden Jubilee Mutual Fund by 9.57 percent and BD Thai Food by 8.06 percent.
