The price of gold has been increased in the market of the country in just one day. The price of the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been increased by Tk 1,749. In this, the price of good quality gold has increased to 1 lakh 17 thousand 573 taka. The price of gold has never been so high in the country’s market.
The new price has been fixed in view of the increase in the price of acid gold (ripe gold) in the local market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that this price will be effective from Monday (April 8).
Earlier on April 6, the price of one load of good quality gold was fixed at Tk 1 lakh 15 thousand 824 from April 7. It broke all previous records and created a new record for the highest price of gold. A new record has been created by increasing the price within a day.

Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee met on Monday (April 8) and decided to increase the prices. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the committee chairman Masudur Rahman.
According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold. Which will be effective from 4 pm on Monday.
According to the new price, the price of a bar of best quality or 22 carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,749 to Tk 1,17,573. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been increased from Tk 1,633 to Tk 1,12,208.
Apart from this, the price of 18 carat gold has been increased by 1 thousand 458 taka to 96 thousand 228 taka. And the price of one load of traditional gold has been increased by Tk 1,225 to Tk 80,190.

However, buyers have to pay more to buy gold jewellery. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the price fixed by Bajus. At the same time, the minimum wage per worker is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh 26 thousand 951 taka including VAT and wages to buy 22 carat gold jewelry from tomorrow Tuesday.
Earlier, on April 7, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was increased by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,15,824. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been increased by Tk 1,692 to Tk 1,10,575.
Besides, the price of one 18 carat gold bar has been increased by 1 thousand 458 taka to 94 thousand 770 taka. And the price of one load of traditional gold was increased by 1 thousand 166 taka to 78 thousand 965 taka. Gold will be sold at this price till 4 pm on Monday. And after 4 pm it will be sold at the new price.
Gold prices increased but silver prices remained unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka.
