Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Saudi Arabia on February 27. The President of Ukraine announced this on his Telegram channel.
He intends to hold talks with Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman al-Saud.
The head of Ukraine said that the number one topic of the visit is the peace resolution. Ukraine held a meeting at the level of advisers in Jeddah last year on the implementation of such an initiative.
“We are now close to holding the first peace summit and expect continued active support from Saudi Arabia,” Zelensky added.
According to the President of Ukraine, the second topic is the return of prisoners and displaced persons. The leadership of Saudi Arabia has already helped to release the Ukrainians.
“I am sure that this meeting will also give results,” he said.
Zelensky also plans to discuss prospective directions of economic cooperation and Saudi Arabia’s participation in the recovery of Ukraine from the consequences of the war.
