President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari received Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Mukhtar Babayev, designated President of COP29.

Publika.az reports that President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated Azerbaijan on its chairmanship of COP29 and expressed hope that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change will support the climate-related financial needs of developing countries.

The head of state said that he highly appreciates Pakistan-Azerbaijani relations and that they are interested in further developing bilateral cooperation in various fields. He called for promoting mutual relations, bilateral exchanges and people-to-people contacts to further strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries.

Mukhtar Babayev stressed the need for further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, especially in the field of tourism and culture.

The President of Pakistan has been invited to participate in the COP29 to be held in Baku in November 2024.
