The presentation of the modernized Golf is just around the corner. The design will change slightly, the interior could be much more pleasant

Volkswagen chief designer Andreas Mindt has published the official illustrations of the modernized Golf on his Instagram profile. And he also included sketches of the sports version of the GTI.

The images confirm that the facelift will bring rather subtle changes in appearance. The car gets a new front bumper with different air intakes and new headlights. They will offer a revised light signature, which includes an arrangement inspired by the electric models of the ID family, a distinctive LED strip above the narrow radiator grille and, above all, the new illuminated Volkswagen logo.

Modified headlights can also be found at the rear and a new bumper should also be found. New wheels and body colors are likely to appear in the price list.

In the case of the GTI version we expect similar innovations, but obviously the car will have a sportier appearance. The hot hatch then features a larger opening in the front bumper filled with a honeycomb pattern or a distinctive rear spoiler.

And since Volkswagen has already offered a look at the rejuvenated interior, we know that even with higher specifications the Golf will ditch the touch surfaces on the steering wheel and revert to traditional buttons.

We can also expect a redesigned infotainment. It should run on a 10-inch touch screen in lower trims and a 13-inch display in more expensive versions. Volkswagen invites you to a new user experience with new functions and smoother operation. We could perhaps wait for the backlit bars under the display.

An interesting novelty is the implementation of the ChatGPT tool, which is a sort of “kit” that uses artificial intelligence. The feature is not expected to replace voice control, rather it will be an additional addition that will provide a “relevant answer to any question.” It will be possible to communicate with artificial intelligence on the Golf (and other new Volkswagens) starting from the second quarter of this year.

No word yet on engines and prices. However, it can be assumed that the powertrain lineup will not change much as part of the modernization. We will see. And so on. The show is scheduled for January 24th.
