The match for the cup will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. The final match will be attended by 82,500 spectators – this is as much as the arena can accommodate. The third-place game will be held in Miami at the 64,767-capacity Hard Rock Stadium.
The World Championship will open with the Mexican national team. The team will play its opening match on June 11 at the 87,523-capacity Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The opponent of the host country of the tournament will be determined later.
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by three countries – Mexico, the United States and Canada. This is the third time that Mexico has hosted such a tournament on its territory, having previously hosted the games in 1970 and 1986. This will be Canada’s first World Cup; the games will be played in Vancouver and Toronto.
The 2026 world championship will be held for the first time with the participation of 48 national teams (previously there were 32 teams). A total of 104 matches will take place in the tournament.
The current world champion is Argentina.
