In addition to the achievements, the General Secretary and President also shared the difficulties and challenges that the business community in general, including small and medium enterprises, have to face, especially the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and the global economic recession that is still very severe. Although many businesses have taken advantage of opportunities and advantages to break through, many businesses are still struggling with difficulties in fierce competition.
Although there are still many things that need to be paid attention to and improved regarding the policy framework and the cooperation of all levels and sectors, the General Secretary and President affirmed that he always respects and acknowledges the tireless efforts and positive contributions of the business community, including small and medium-sized enterprises, to the national economy.
In that context, the General Secretary and President said that the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises needs to continue to improve all aspects, constantly improve the quality of the Association’s activities and movements. At the same time, there needs to be many creative and innovative contents and methods of organization, overcome difficulties and limitations in the Association’s specific operating conditions; successfully complete the tasks and goals set forth in the Resolution of the 4th National Congress of Delegates for the 2023-2028 term of the Association.
The General Secretary and President requested the Association to perform well its functions as a professional social organization, to be an effective bridge, to represent the voice, thoughts and aspirations of businesses, to strengthen solidarity and unity in the business community, to promote the spirit of “self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and national pride”, to be increasingly worthy of being a national representative organization, truly a place to gather, spread and nurture the growth of the Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprise community in the cause of industrialization, modernization, international integration, building a rule-of-law state, and perfecting the socialist-oriented market economy.
According to the General Secretary and President, the Association’s activities must focus on priority goals, bringing clear and practical results to members, which is also the foundation for the Association to expand its members’ participation; at the same time, he emphasized that the business community needs to proactively innovate itself, restructure and continuously improve. Along with that, it is necessary to promote strong digital transformation; enhance competitiveness, build brand and product reputation; focus on investing in technology application, taking advantage of opportunities that the 4.0 industrial revolution and FTA agreements are opening up.
The General Secretary and President also noted that the Association must be the place to orient the activities of member enterprises, absolutely comply with the law, practice progressive business standards, pay taxes and mandatory financial obligations, fully implement the rights of workers, protect the environment, protect and preserve the national brand and reputation. At the same time, say no to acts of commercial fraud, production of counterfeit goods, fake goods, poor quality goods; build product brands, create prestige and position for enterprises, contribute worthily and proudly to the strength of the national brand and the country.

The General Secretary and President emphasized that in the coming time, the fight against corruption and negativity will continue to be promoted, resolutely, persistently, continuously, without rest, without forbidden areas or exceptions. The business community and entrepreneurs must be an important factor accompanying, responding, contributing with their responsibility and intelligence, contributing to building a truly clean and strong Party and State, operating effectively and efficiently, for the people, with the noble ideal and goal of “rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization”.
Affirming that after nearly 40 years of renovation, the country is facing many new and great opportunities and challenges, the General Secretary and President hopes that the Vietnamese business community needs to continue to grow strongly, not only doing well economically, but also doing well in political and ideological work for the business community so that they can be more deeply aware of their honor and responsibility to the Fatherland and the people; unite, strive, work creatively, and fulfill their responsibilities. Businesses accompany the Party and the State, create more jobs for society, take better care of workers’ lives, and actively participate in social activities, creating the superiority of Vietnamese businesses.
The General Secretary and President believes that Party committees and authorities from the central to local levels, the entire political system, together with the business community and the small and medium-sized enterprise community nationwide, will join hands to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party’s guidelines and policies and the State’s laws and policies, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous, civilized and happy country.
General Secretary and President To Lam wished the Association and the entire Vietnamese business community to foster great ambition, be steadfast, further promote cultural identity and national spirit, reap many successes in the noble cause of “peacetime soldiers”, worthy of the pride and trust of the Party, State and people.
