Regarding the incident of grilled snakehead fish in Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak Province) reported to have maggots, on April 12, the People’s Committee of Ea Tam Ward (Buon Ma Thuot City) issued a decision to sanction administrative violations for with establishments that sell this type of food.

Accordingly, Mr. PNAS (residing in Ea Tam ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, owner of the restaurant) was punished for violating food hygiene and safety. Specifically, food must not be covered to prevent dust, insects, and harmful animals from entering; This facility does not use gloves when in direct contact with cooked or instant food.
For the above violations, Mr. S. was fined 4.2 million VND by the authorities. At the same time, Mr. S. was required to immediately correct violations and strictly comply with legal regulations on food hygiene and safety.
As VTC News reported, on the evening of April 9, on the social network Facebook, a clip of about 30 seconds was spread, recording the scene of a person separating a grilled snakehead fish into parts when he discovered many maggots crawling.
In the clip as well as the posted information, this person said he bought the grilled snakehead fish for 90,000 VND in Ea Tam ward.
Receiving feedback, on the afternoon of April 10, Ea Tam Ward People’s Committee in coordination with Buon Ma Thuot City Health Department conducted an inspection and made a record at the establishment selling grilled snakehead fish.
