The Ministry of Inner Affairs (MIA) of Georgia has launched details about the arrest of Aleko Elisashvili, one of the most leaders of the opposition “Robust Georgia” coalition, for violence towards Ali Babayev, the chairman of the Nationwide Congress of Georgian Azerbaijanis.
Publika.az experiences that the oppositionist is charged with the crime of “threatening violence”.
“The investigation established that on December 2 of this 12 months, A. Elisashvili attacked A. B., born in 1954, a member of the “Georgian Dream” birthday celebration, and bodily burdened him in one of the most pharmacies positioned on Kostava Side road in Tbilisi. A. Elisashvili was once arrested as a suspect because of operational and investigative measures performed by means of regulation enforcement officials. He faces as much as 3 years of imprisonment,” the MIA stated.
