“Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, who was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest person in the world, died at the age of 114,” Maduro said on the “X” social network. He expressed his condolences to all the residents of El Cobre, where Perez Mora was born.

According to “El Nacional” newspaper, Perez Mora died of respiratory problems a few days before his 115th birthday. His name entered the Guinness Book of Records on February 4, 2022 at the age of 112 years and 253 days, surpassing the previous record holder, the Spaniard Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia. Perez Mora attributed his longevity to active work, adequate rest, early bedtime and moderate alcohol consumption. He was careful about his diet, prayed regularly and drank plenty of water.

Born in El Cobra on May 27, 1909, Perez Mora was the ninth of ten children and had eleven children. In recent years, he lived in a country house in San Jose de Bolivar.
