Moroccan writer Mohamed Barouhou has published a new novel titled: “Parrots Soared,” by Madrasa Publications for Publishing and Distribution in Casablanca.
The novel tells about alienation, travel, and displacement to an alternative homeland. It also deals with the two sides of rebellion and challenge, where people are full of days, forced to search for a safe haven… Among them is the character “Maya”, the single mother who migrates from the depths of the African continent towards North Africa, to meet there her lover. Also, an African immigrant who left his original homeland, seeking a place that would embrace him and seek refuge in him, a homeland that would reward him, after he became stranded in a country whose back was broken by political disputes and sectarian conflicts for power and wealth…
It is noteworthy that the novelist Rouhou, from the city of Tetouan, has won many awards and appreciations in Morocco and abroad. He also published many creative works. Among them are: “Houses of Sand” (a collection of short stories) in 2006, “My Lady the Poet” (a collection of short stories) in 2012, “Jumana, the Woman of the Bugaz” (a novel) in 2015, and “Time to Leave” (a novel) in 2022.
