Tam is the suspect in the murder of Ms. NTHP (22 years old, coffee shop employee) at a kiosk on Highway 22, Xuan Thoi Son commune, Hoc Mon district on January 6.

According to a source from Tu newspaper Long AnDuring three days of hiding in the fields, Tam only wandered around the people’s overgrown fields.

“He said he only picked guavas, fruits… to hold on. When you’re thirsty, you drink water from jars. Even though you drink ditch water, you still drink it even though it’s polluted,” the source said.

Tam also said that occasionally in the hiding areas, he heard people’s voices, but he quickly hid in the bushes so no one discovered him. This person also admitted that the reason for the robbery was to target the motorbike and attack the girl, without any other purpose.

Tam is said to be an avid gambler and was once sought by the Long An Provincial Police in connection with a motorbike theft.

As reported by the newspaper, after killing the girl, suspect Tam stole the victim’s SH Mode car and fled to Long An. Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with Long An Provincial Police to search for the perpetrator.

The police followed the trail until they reached Provincial Road 830 and lost track of the suspect in Luong Hoa commune, Ben Luc district.

Expanding the search, the police discovered a scooter and sandals left by the suspect along a path in Hamlet 7.

Authorities immediately deployed additional forces to blockade the entire area, using many professional measures to search.

However, this is a rural area, with many large gardens mixed with overgrown fields and canals, making arrest difficult. By noon this afternoon (January 9), detectives had arrested the suspect.
