“The most suitable winger”.. Barcelona’s position on contracting with Mohamed Salah

Spain – Press reports said that the management of the Spanish club Barcelona is interested in contracting with Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, the English Liverpool striker, during the summer transfer period of 2024.

The Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” said that Barcelona believes that Mohamed Salah is the most suitable and best for the team in the right wing position, but the club is difficult for it to sign him.

The newspaper points out that “the large financial compensation for a deal for a player like Mohamed Salah removes him from the accounts of the Barcelona technical staff.”

Mohamed Salah has a contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2025, but the crisis is that if he leaves the Reds, he will receive attractive offers from Saudi Professional League clubs.

Salah is performing at exceptional levels this season with Liverpool, as he scored 18 goals in all tournaments and made 9 assists, with a total of 27 scoring contributions during 27 matches.

Aside from Salah, Barcelona’s management decided to choose between several other names that were financially capable of signing one of them, led by Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli, the 22-year-old Arsenal player, who is under a contract with the English club until 2027.

Martinelli succeeded in scoring 7 goals with the Gunners this season, while last season he excelled with 15 goals at all levels.

Barcelona also included in the list the name of Georgian Hvicha Kvaratskhelia, who led Napoli to win the Italian League title last season.

Barcelona is encouraged to include Kvaratskhelia, in addition to his great technical quality and his scoring of 14 goals and 17 assists last season, he is among the lowest paid in Naples, in addition to his agent’s talk about the player’s desire to represent the “Blaugrana” or his eternal rival, Real Madrid.

On the other hand, Spanish striker Neco Williams dropped out of Barcelona’s accounts after he renewed his contract with his Spanish team, Athletic Bilbao, until 2027, in December 2023.
