Natálka, Karolínka and…
In 2023, thanks to you, our readers, we managed to collect 1,242,762 crowns in just 17 days, which confirmed to 6 families that miracles do happen… Natálka and Karolínka were among them… How are they doing today?
Seizures disappear
Natálka (11) from Boskovice has been suffering from catastrophic epilepsy since she was 8 months old. Thanks to the Lightning Miracle last year, money was raised for a special device to detect possible epileptic seizures during sleep. Mom Pavlína could finally sleep after years.
At the beginning of this year, the Kaprans were once again in the spirit of seizures, until then there was one huge seizure that did not stop. The girl ended up in the hospital on ARO.
Then she received a new drug for epilepsy, which had just arrived on the Czech market. And it helped! Natálka has now been without a seizure for a month and a half. “I can’t describe how happy I am,” says mom.
But they still need the seizure detection device acquired thanks to the Lightning Miracle project. “The medicine suppresses Natálka a lot. So we always use it if, for example, Natálka stops breathing during the night,” described Pavlína.
Family had a great summer thanks to new epilepsy drug! “Finally we could all be by the water together,” says mom. | family archive
He’s making progress
Last February, Karolínka (14) from Velvar was found by her brother Ondra (11) blue with no signs of life. He called for help and saved her life. But her brain was without oxygen for a long time and some parts of it are damaged. Even with the help of the Lightning Miracle project, however, he is making progress.
Thanks to regular visits to the pressure chamber, the spa and exercise, it moves. “With the money from the Zázrak Blesku collection, we rehabilitated for two months. This helped that Kája can now take a few steps and is not fully tied to a wheelchair,” thanks mom Hanka. Kája likes to paint, tries to play sports despite her handicap and is an excellent teacher.
But speaking was a problem for Karolína. The turning point came this summer. “We went to Motolo for medicine and Kája suddenly said ARO. There she met the doctors and nurses. “Everyone ran to her and couldn’t believe their eyes, Karolínka left the cart in front of the ward and walked up to them and spoke.”
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you or someone you love needs help, don’t hesitate to write us a story tip. Together we can bring at least a little light into the lives of people who need it most.
From the received tips and stories, we will carefully select a few significant destinies and people whom we will try to help before Christmas. Together with Donio (which is a collection platform for everyone who wants to change their own or someone else’s life story), we will create a collection for these families from the project. We will gradually introduce them all to the readers, including specific things that will be contributed to…
