Accommodation like in cotton wool? Some fans would probably be really surprised by living in the Olympic villages! At least according to Australian representative Ariarne Titmusová (23), the conditions were catastrophic.
Australian swimmer Ariarne Tante collected medals like on a treadmill in Paris. She returned home with two gold and two silver medals. Still, he probably won’t remember France fondly. At least not for the accommodation that was provided to the athletes.
She shared her experience with Australian news show The Project: “My bathroom in my apartment was bigger than the living room for the four of us,” she complained. “After the first night we were there, our sheets were changed. But then it didn’t change during the whole time, so we lived in the dirt.” Titmus zoomed in.
“We had to lie about being roommates to get a toilet seat. You’d run out of toilet paper and they’d give you one roll for four days for everyone in the suite.” the Australian woman shook her head. After all, she is not the first to complain about the accommodation.
Images of Italian swimmer and champion Thomas Ceccone napping on a towel in a park during the day went viral around the world during the Olympics. During the tournament he remarked that it was very difficult to sleep in the official accommodation.
And the organizers also received unsatisfied feedback regarding the food. Swimmer Adam Peaty complained about having worms in his food. However, he did not present any evidence of this, so it was difficult to solve the whole situation. But American gymnast Simone Biles wasn’t too excited about the food either, according to which the food in the Olympic village was very healthy.
According to Titmus, the housing was disastrous.
