The story of an ambitious medical student whose serious illness changed his life but helped him find love and value his own family was broadcast by Czech Television from January 7 to February 25. Original Belgian version Sense of tumor was awarded the prestigious Prix Europa award for the best TV series of 2018. The author of the Czech adaptation is screenwriter Matěj Podzimek (43), directed by Tereza Kopáčová (54). The main role in the series was played by Filip Březina (28), Tereza Brodská (55), Jiří Bartoška (76), Elizabeth the Little (26) or Pavel Řezníček (57).

“More women searched for the series than men. Among the age groups, it most entertained viewers aged 45-64 and also young viewers 15-24. He achieved the highest share Sense of tumor among university students, interest rose sharply with education. Regionally, there is an above-average interest among viewers from Prague, Eastern Bohemia and Central Moravia,” Renata Tímová, head of research and analysis, gave the details. The entire series was accompanied by an awareness campaign and a separate podcast series. Each episode also included interviews with real cancer patients from the Fuck Cancer Association.

In addition, the actor of the main role was so affected by all the events surrounding the series that he decided to help – he was registered in the bone marrow donor register!
