The lover escaped with the lottery with Tk 5 crore, a case in court –

A man has recently filed a case in a Canadian court on allegations that a lover has fled with another man with more than 5 million rupees to win the lottery. It is alleged that his lover has been deceived by the Canadian dollar (about Tk 12.5 million in Bangladeshi currency) to win the lottery. The man filed a case against his former lover, lottery authorities and provincial liquor and lottery corporation.

The case filed by the Court of King’s Bench in the Manitoba said that the man named Lawrence Campbell bought a lottery ticket from the Cano Convention Store in Winipeg on January 2021, 2021. At that time he was about ‘credible and promising’ with Crystal Ann McKei.

Campbell alleged that he had given the ticket to McCee because he lost his wallet. It was later found on the floor of a friend’s house and scanned on the mobile phone and found it won the jackpot.

Upon receiving the news of winning the lottery, the two recorded a video together and went to verify the ticket. But then an official of the lottery corporation told Campbell that he could not claim the prize because he did not have a valid government ID. As a result, it was decided to present McCai as a ticket owner.

At a press conference, McKei told the ticket was his birthday gift. Although Campbell said he originally bought the ticket.

According to the case, McKe deposited $ 1 million in his bank account after winning the lottery and then returned to the hotel room with the campbell. Later Campbell found him with a stranger and from there their relationship ended.

The complaint also said that McKe did not hold the campbel’s phone, blocked social media and issued a protection order against him.

Campbell lawyer Chad Panting said in an email, “This is not just a lovely fraud, but the result of the wrong direction of the provincial lottery system.”

No allegations of the case have been proved in court yet. McCai’s lawyer, Conor Williamson, said his client denied all allegations and would soon submit a reply statement.

Meanwhile, Campbell claims the lottery authorities did not properly warn him and gave him wrong advice.

Manitoba Liquor and Lottery Corporation and Western Canada Lottery Corporation have not yet received a formal response.
