In the eighth version of the Literary Barter ‘A Book Café’ the protagonists will continue to be the people who are united by a passion: books. However, on this occasion they will also be intertwined by coffee, an essential drink among readers and writers, as the French novelist and playwright Honoré de Balzac expressed it: “If it were not for coffee, one would not be able to write, that is , I could not live”.
Another novelty that this literary event has is the exaltation of the work of the poet Félix Molina-Flórez, for his outstanding career as a poet and invaluable contribution to the strengthening of literature in the department of Cesar.
On December 2, Valledupar readers will experience a great literary day with this event that will take place at Café España, headquarters of Los Algarrobillos Park, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. On the other hand, at the end of the activities relevant events of the Literary Barter, at 7:00 pm the organizers of said event will travel to the facilities of the aforementioned café at the Don Carmelo headquarters, to offer readers the Literary Lunada ‘Magical Realism’.
It should be taken into account when exchanging books that only literary works are received: novels, short stories, collections of poems, chronicles, biography, comics, graphic novels, literary essays, self-improvement and personal growth. Not accepted: encyclopedias, magazines, primers, dictionaries, photocopied books or summaries. They are also received as a donation for future events.
The Literary Barter is an initiative of the social communicator and journalist Luz Andrea Gómez Brito, which has been developed since 2019 with the purpose of promoting reading and providing a meeting space for Valledupar readers. Currently, the poet, teacher and Cultural manager Martha Navarro Bentham is accompanying her in coordinating the event.
