The Libyan government submits a new request to the Central Bank of Libya

The Libyan Prime Minister, Osama Hammad, addressed the Governor of the Central Bank, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, and his deputy, Marai Al-Barasi, to implement the judicial ruling issued by the Ajdabiya Court appointing them as judicial guardians of the country’s oil and gas revenues.
A letter issued by Hammad on Monday said, “With reference to State Order No. 23 of 2003 issued by the Ajdabiya Court on 3/10/2023, which requires the imposition of judicial receivership on the funds and revenues from the sale of oil and gas,
With reference to the decision of the same court issued on 7/18/2023, regarding your appointment as a judicial guardianship committee for oil funds and revenues, the decisions issued by the court must be implemented.
Hammad added in his speech that since “the National Unity Government had previously raised a complaint regarding the implementation of this state order, and it was examined before the competent department, and a ruling was issued rejecting the complaint and it became a law to be implemented quickly, this requires the Central Bank to implement it.”

According to the judicial order and in accordance with their legal and historical responsibility, Hammad demanded that Al-Kabir and Al-Barassi implement the decision and carry out their duties as a committee guarding the funds of the Libyan people.

The speech stressed the need to urgently take everything necessary to protect Libyan money from financial and administrative tampering and corruption, in addition to preparing periodic reports on the actions taken and completed in implementation of the state order. (Libyan News)
