The leak of the song Generic from the drama series “Between Palaces,” which was shown last Ramadan, with the voice of the artist Hatem Ammor, sparked widespread controversy on social media platforms, especially since the song was recently released in the voice of the Emirati-Yemeni artist Balqis Fathi.
A private source from within the company producing the series “Between Palaces” revealed that the creators of the work were upset with the leaking of the “Demo” version of the song to which Hatem Ammor initially put his voice after agreeing with him, adding that the latter was abandoned due to some technical problems and working conditions.
The Hespress source reported that financial problems were not the reason for the failure of Ammor’s deal with the makers of “Between Palaces,” adding that the discussion was about concluding an employment contract between the Moroccan artist and the producing company, as the latter received two copies of the contract from Ammor and after accepting the conditions listed in The second copy shows that the owner of “Untitled” signed and sent the contract for the first copy; This caused a professional dispute to erupt, and it was decided to abandon him and replace him with another artist a few days before the start of the Ramadan season.
Issam Himmich, the Moroccan artistic supervisor, accused the latter of sending the song in his voice to some of his fans after the leak of the generic with Amour’s voice and asking them to publish it on the pages in order to stir up controversy, highlighting that moral reasons were behind replacing him with the artist Balqis despite the prior agreement with him.
In a statement to Hespress, Himmish said that he was surprised that the song was leaked on social media platforms. This is what prompted him to come out and clarify the incident, pointing out that he did not intend to offend Moroccan artists with his statements because he did not generalize, but rather spoke about some artists who do not deal professionally despite their experience in the field.
The same speaker added that the works he presented were mostly with Moroccan artists and achieved great success, adding that a group of artists presented songs that have not seen the light to this day. But dealing with them was professional, and he had not previously been exposed to any leak of this kind.
For its part, the electronic newspaper Hespress tried to contact the artist Hatem Ammor in order to obtain a comment or response from him on the matter. However, the author of “Untitled” did not respond.
