Roberts Rancāns stood out for the Latvian national team with eight accurate shots, Nikita Panchenko scored five times into the opponent’s goal, while Raivis Gorbunovs scored another four goals.
Benjamin Peitsaro and Karl Weurlander scored six goals for Finland.
On Thursday Latvia lost to Estonia with 29:35 and Lithuania beat Finland with 41:22, but on Friday the Latvians lost to Lithuania with 32:31, while the Estonians beat Finland with 31:28 .
National coach Davors Čutura included 20 players in the Latvian men’s national team, including six handball players who play abroad.
The men’s national teams of the Baltics and Finland will organize a test match tournament for the second time in 2023, this time in Ludza. In January in Riga, Finland became the winners of the cup, second place was taken by the Estonian national team, third by Lithuania and fourth by Latvia.
For the Latvian national team, this is a preparation phase for the next pre-qualification matches for the 2026 European Championships against Luxembourg on 11 and 14 January.
