No big surprise: The Last of Us Part II Remastered was reviewed by early journalists and editors from many regions of the world praising the large edition of the famous production that originally debuted on the previous generation. Fans of the series can get ready for some great fun.
There will be no shortage of great games in 2024, but how many projects will achieve an average rating above 90%? Ellie’s revamped adventure is the first production to achieve this, but considering the success of The Last of Us Part II, this shouldn’t be a surprise.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered boasts excellent scores (91% on Opencritic and 90 points on Metacritic) – these are slightly worse scores than the original edition (93% on Opencritic and 93 points on Metacritic), but let’s remember the circumstances of the announcement and the many negative emotions that the set aroused. Naughty Dog can therefore talk about another success.
Journalists of the new edition appreciate the abundance of additional content, refined graphics and solid use of the capabilities of the DualSense controller. The story still tugs at your heartstrings, and No Return is a mode that’s worth buying the entire game or at least upgrading for. Thanks to additional commentary, the developers reveal many details about the creation process of The Last of Us Part II, and the incomplete levels provide a lot of information about what else we might see in the game.
What elements didn’t work? The Last of Us Part II Remastered is not a game for everyone, and at the same time we shouldn’t count on a revolution in graphics. In less positive reviews you will find references to the fact that the (additional) content offered is not enough to make an updated edition now, and some publishers mention the lack of new game elements.
