Also according to people here, fishermen on the Pirate Islands discovered two foreigners illegally entering Vietnamese territory and reported them to local authorities for arrest. These two people came to the Pirate Islands by canoe, carrying walkie-talkies, cameras, metal detectors, binoculars, nautical charts and ancient maps depicting the terrain of the Pirate Islands.
Although there was no authentic information from the authorities at that time, local people told each other that two foreigners came to their archipelago to look for treasure.
This raises the true story of whether or not a treasure exists in the Pirate Islands, which were once considered the lair of pirate gangs in the past. Someone also said that many years ago, a group of fishermen diving to catch seafood on the waters of the Pirate Islands found many ancient coins. Once again, the questionable story about the Pirate Islands being a place to hide many ancient coins, gold, silver, and jewels of pirates continues to be hotly discussed by people and tourists.
According to many historical documents and oral traditions of local people, this place was once the lair of many pirate groups.
However, the fact is that the story of whether or not the treasure exists in this archipelago has never been verified. Stories are passed down among the people, about how many times curious local fishermen spent a lot of effort and time searching for traces of “treasure” but always came back empty-handed.
Up to now, the Pirate Islands are still a destination containing mysterious stories, arousing the curiosity of many people.
