The key events of the PC starting in 2024

During the days of celebration at the end of the year and the beginning of a January summer vacation, in the Communist Party there is a display of activity that commits different structures of the organization with the objective of establishing its political agenda, showing positioning and defining guidelines for the 2024. Within this framework, the communists have major events planned beginning the year.

This Monday, the first day of 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Michoacán de Los Guindos House Museum, in the commune of La Reina, the traditional Caldillo de Congrio will be held where leaders of the Communist Party (PC) receive the press to provide opinions but also to offer them the traditional fish and seafood dish to alleviate the first hours after the New Year.

Twelve days later, on January 13 and 14, the PC will hold its Hugs Festival, in Parque O’Higgins, commune of Santiago, where, together with artistic activities, gastronomy stalls, sale of books and various publications, recreational spaces , tables for reflection and debate on national issues will be set up, and where according to the themes and guests chosen, the communists outline their political and programmatic agenda priorities.

By the way, both in the Caldillo de Congrio and in the Hugs Festival (FDA), basically through the interventions of the president of the PC, Lautaro Carmona, it is expected that beyond rhetoric and greetings, a contingency political position will be expressed and medium term, such as what remains of two years of Gabriel Boric’s Government and the priorities of the PC.

Of course there will be other voices from the PC in both activities and especially in the FDA, where in addition to representatives of that community, the participation and placement of topics, proposals and debates of representations of the Frente Amplio, Democratic Socialism, and other forces are expected. politicians, union and social leaders, academics and even political leaders from other countries who speak about their local, regional and international situations.

The FDA, moreover, during January and February is replicated in cities and communities in different regions of the country.

February will come, which aims to be a prioritized month for rest in the country, but in the PC there would apparently not be so much passivity because it is expected that in March at least the first steps of its National Congress will be taken, which will be decisive in establishing the political guidelines of the community, modify or reaffirm organizational and programmatic aspects, and give way to the election of its national leadership in the formation of the new Central Committee and its president and general secretary.

The PC is the majority force within the government coalitions, it maintains a presence in the social, cultural and human rights world, it has a strong parliamentary bench, it maintains two female ministers and one minister in decisive entities, it is in charge of important mayoralties, makes efforts to activate civil society and social and territorial organizations, therefore what is developed and said in Caldillo de Congrio, the FDA and Congress, will surely affect the political, social and institutional scenario from the first weeks of 2024.
