An unexpected development took place in the assault case in which Dilan and Engin Polat were tried on charges of incitement. According to the news by İhsan Yalçın from Kanal D, the judge of the Küçükçekmece 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance withdrew from the case in which the Polat couple were tried on charges of instigation.
DİLAN POLAT’S LAWYER PUBLISHED PRESSURE
The judge explained the reason for his decision to withdraw from the case in a petition. In his petition, the judge asked Dilan Polat’s lawyer, Atty. He claimed that Hüseyin Kaya pressured him to meet privately. The judge also stated that he rejected the events that took place during and after the hearing and the demands of the lawyer, but Kaya continued his insistent attitude.

In the petition containing the withdrawal request, the judge stated, “After the file of our court, the main number of which is written above, was compiled and the interim decision was established, on 03.06.2024, at around 11:00 in the corridor between the courtroom and the pen, the defendant Dilan Polat’s defense attorney, Atty. It was understood that he threatened and entered the judge’s room by force. The court judge recorded this situation and filed a complaint, and legal proceedings were initiated against Atty. He stated that the judge tried to put pressure on him to meet with him in his room, that this meeting did not take place in the room, that after all these events, his belief in serving against him was damaged, and therefore he requested to withdraw, in line with the judge’s statements, the hearing judge withdrew from the case. he said.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the operations carried out on and after November 1, 2023 in 6 provinces centered in Istanbul, 24 suspects, including Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat, were detained. While 16 of the suspects, including Dilan Polat, Engin Polat and Sıla Doğu, were arrested, the judge ruled to appoint trustees to 27 companies.
The lawyer of Dilan Polat, who is detained in Bakırköy Women’s Closed Penal Institution within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, wrote a petition to the prosecutor’s office and requested her release, on the grounds that it was not appropriate for her client to remain in prison due to health problems. Evaluating the petition, the chief prosecutor’s office decided to refer Dilan Polat to the forensic medicine institution.
