The Israeli apparatus gymnastics team qualified today (Wednesday) for the group finals at the European Championships in Rimini, Italy. At the same time, three gymnasts qualified from the qualifying exercises in three individual finals.
Olympic champion Artyom Dolgupiat qualified for the floor exercise final, Alex Myakinin qualified for the balance beam final and Ilya Liubimov qualified for the pommel horse final. On Friday evening, the finals will be held in the ground exercises and the authority horse. On Saturday evening, the final will be held in the tension exercise. The group final will be held on Sunday.
The Israeli team includes Artyom Dolgopiat, Alex Miakinin, Ilya Liubimov, Pavel Golidov, Ron Pyatov and Uri Seidel (all gymnasts from the Maccabi Tel Aviv Association). During the team exercise qualifiers, Israel finished in seventh place out of 30 teams and qualified for the finals with a score of 246.061 points.
The group exercise preliminaries are also used for the individual exercise preliminaries, when the eight gymnasts who excel in each apparatus qualify for the individual finals. Artyom Dolgopiat qualified for the floor finals from first place with 15.2 points and finished the battle rav competition in eighth place with a total of 82.432 points.
Alex Miakinin qualified for the tension final from sixth place with 14.333 points. Ilya Liubimov qualified for the finals of the sous mokot from the eighth place with 14.266 points. In addition, Uri Seidel finished in the 24th place in the multi-combat.
