The helmet of the future has arrived: records your rides, warns you if you have an accident and connects to DGT 3.0

Usually, when we think of a motorcycle helmet, we think of an element of individual protection. Function over form, basing the purchasing decision on each pocket’s budgetary constraints. There are different designs and materials, but the function of the helmet remains practically unique. However, there are products like Livall MC1 Pro which will not only save your life in the event of an accident, but will also bring together a series of functions that until now we had never seen together in a helmet on sale in our country.

Livall MC1 Pro, the connected helmet of the future is here

He Livall MC1 Pro It is a product sold and developed by a Spanish brand, whose production is located in China, the world’s factory. Livall’s premise is to expand the possibilities of helmets through his internet connection and our smartphone, opening the door to features that not only increase our safety, but also our comfort or convenience. Although the brand started out making helmets for bicycles and scooters, it currently has two motorcycle helmets, the MC1 and the MC1 Pro.

Both helmets comply with the new ECE06 DOT approval and are made of polycarbonate and EPS foam.

We have already talked about MC1 in this article, written by my colleague David Villarreal. Thanks to a small rechargeable battery with a capacity of 1,000 mAh, these helmets have very interesting functions, such as Bluetooth headphones with microphone. This allows us to make and receive calls, listen to music or communicate in walkie-talkie mode with other motorcyclists. But the Bluetooth connection has a much more important function: in the event of an accident it sends a message to five emergency contacts, so that they can communicate it to the emergency services.

This would allow, in the event of an accident, a voice warning to be issued to the rest of the motorists, informing them of the accident. Likewise, also alert the emergency services to come to our aid. The helmets are equipped with a bright beacon, which warns of our position in the event of an accident, and a Red rear LED that lights up when braking thanks to an integrated accelerometer.

The MC1 Pro version goes a step further and integrates a camera with wide angle lens, capable of recording up to 120 degrees forward. It can record up to 32 hours of video, recording our outings or acting as a dash-cam in the event of an accident.

Starting from 799 euros in Spain

The Livall MC1 Pro connected helmet is priced at 799 euros In our country. It costs 250 euros more than the “simple” MC1, but has a series of additional functions that justify the extra price.
