- If Die Welt’s information is confirmed, the Czech Republic will get the area it wanted for the European Commissioner.
- Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) will not comment on Die Welt’s information about the energy portfolio for Síkela. Not all information that emerges is accurate, the spokeswoman said.

However, he has been discussing the economic portfolio with Ursula von der Leyen from the beginning,” government spokeswoman Lucie Ješátková told ČTK. “Until the composition of the future European Commission is officially published, I will not comment on ongoing speculations,” Vojtěch Srnka, a spokesman for the Ministry of Industry and Trade, also said.
Jakub Michálek, chairman of the Pirates parliamentary committee, would consider the energy portfolio for Síkela a great success for the Czech Republic. “The minister can advocate for the improvement of the European energy market so that we can manage economic shocks and be able to support households in a targeted manner. It is the result of our European and foreign policy and the EU presidency, when we stopped just criticizing, but actively participated in the direction of Europe,” said ČTK.
