The grassland lynx struggled desperately to find a way to survive amidst the jaws of the leopard

Both bobcats and leopards are excellent hunters on the African savannah.

The prairie bobcat is a medium-sized, slender cat with long legs and a fairly short tail. The weight of the bobcat ranges from 7 to 12 kg for females and 9 to 18 kg for males.

Lynx live alone and hunt mainly at night. They often eat rodents, birds, hares, reptiles, fish, frogs, etc. Occasionally, bobcats attack and eat the young of large animals such as deer or antelope, however However, this does not happen often.

The bobcat is an excellent hunter thanks to its large ears and very good hearing. They can run at a maximum speed of up to 80km/h and jump 2 to 3 meters high to catch birds. The grassland lynx is one of the carnivores with the highest hunting success rate on the African savannah.

Meanwhile, the African leopard is one of five big cat species (including tigers, lions, jaguars, leopards and cheetahs). Adult males can reach a weight of 60 to 91 kg, and adult females can reach a weight of 45 to 60 kg.

Not as fast as cheetahs or bobcats, leopards are still excellent hunters thanks to their ability to stalk silently to approach their prey. The food of African leopards can include rodents, antelopes, deer, birds, primates…

Thanks to its ingenious stalking and hunting abilities, leopards are considered the most successful feline animals in the natural world.
