The government intends to legalize the delivery of orders

Younis Al-Sakuri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprises, Employment and Competencies, confirmed that the government is considering addressing the legal situation of order holders who work with companies to deliver and ship goods to customers.

The same government official recorded, while speaking in the House of Representatives during the oral questions session, on Monday, that the government will work after completing the strike law workshops, and with the start of the labor code, to address the issue within the framework of the code, indicating that the next few months will witness achieving a balance in this area.

The same minister explained that important segments of young citizens work in this sector, stressing that contacts have been made with managers of companies working in the field inside Morocco in order to discuss the issue with his ministry.

The same spokesman stressed that what frames the relationship between young people working in the sector and the ordering companies that operate using smart applications is the Law of Obligations and Contracts, Chapter 230, as well as Article 18 of the Labor Code.

Parliamentary representative Mohamed Haddadi, from the National Rally of Liberals, raised the situation of young people who work in delivering orders, stating that they are without legal, health, or insurance coverage, despite their work on motorcycles.

In his question to the minister, the same parliamentarian called for giving importance to these young people, because they come from the margins, stressing that Morocco ranks fifth in this field on the level of the African continent, and added: “We do not want to be behind Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Egypt. We are a country of pioneers, services and tourism.”

The assembly parliamentarian stressed the high demand for smart application platforms, the importance of which everyone is aware of, noting that they provide important financial revenues globally, and noting that the United States of America extracts about 125 billion dollars from them.
