How could a healthy living goldfish be found on the grass, where there are no lakes or fish ponds within a radius of many kilometers?

This is definitely not the mystery of the century, but strangely, the photo has attracted more than 24 million views after 3 days of posting on social network X.

It is known that the person who posted the above photo is Ben Beska, a cardiologist, living in the city of Newcastle (UK).

Sharing in the comments section, Beska said that while he was in the house, he suddenly heard the “squawking” of magpies in the back garden.

He immediately went into the garden to see what had happened, and found a goldfish lying on the grass. And the magpies are nowhere to be seen. “Maybe, they were scared and flew away,” Beska shared.

Beska said the goldfish’s condition was critical, and was probably seconds away from death. With a doctor’s instinct, Beska immediately placed the fish in a tray of water, hoping to save its life.

Beska also did not forget to lock his pet cat out of the kitchen, so that the lucky goldfish could have a quiet, safe space.

The goldfish survived after experiencing a near-death moment (Photo: X).

Sharing more, Beska admitted that he did not know how the fish could appear in the grass of his backyard. “It’s crazy. I don’t know how it got into the garden,” Beska said.

Beska suspected that a magpie had stolen the fish from some lake, then dropped it while flying.

But the strange thing is that there aren’t any lakes nearby, and the fish may have moved from quite a distance. Even more surprisingly, it survived the entire journey, and was eventually saved by a British doctor.

Beska named the goldfish Alice, and decided to keep it. He looked to buy a suitable sized tank, and hoped the fish would continue to write interesting journeys after narrowly escaping death.
