The General Gold Division of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce confirmed that the movement of purchases, sales and prices at goldsmiths was regular and that retail and wholesale trade functioned normally and received consumers throughout the day.
You said in a statement today that this comes after a raw gold trader was arrested today, stressing that there has been no closure of the goldsmiths and that so far work at the goldsmiths is normal.
This comes after it was reported that security forces raided one of the gold traders’ shops in Al-Sagha today, on suspicion ofdollarisation and smuggling.
The General Gold Division has confirmed that what has been circulating on some sites about the closure of jewelry stores and the prevention of shopkeepers or consumers from accessing their stores is not true.
He emphasized the safety of gold savings of the masses of consumers, as there is nothing that can in any way hinder the buying or selling movement.
He said: “It is necessary to clarify how such rumors can create a state of tension in markets or among consumers.”
