England international Ellie Roebuck (24) has not played a single game this season and many fans have been asking what is going on with the young goalkeeper. However, she has now decided to set the record straight and shared a very emotional statement on social networks, which surprised the general public. The soccer player suffered a stroke.
Roebuck played her last match in May of last year. However, she caught only 42 minutes and had to leave the field due to a red card. Since then, she has not appeared in the goal anymore, and various speculations gradually began to spread around her name. However, now the soccer player, who wears the Manchester City jersey, has revealed the painful truth.
“I was not feeling well for some time and underwent several examinations. Unfortunately, it turned out that I had suffered a stroke of the left occipital lobe. Fortunately, however, I have no permanent brain or vision damage.” Roebuck revealed, while also confirming that she is well on her way to recovery.
“I have many weeks of follow-up tests and examinations with specialists. It’s great to be back with the girls, working on rehab and most of all feeling like normal Ellie again. It’s been a really tough time but with the support of my family I’m really positive now and I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch.” added the English goalkeeper, who raised the trophy for the winner of the European Championship in 2022.
