Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the global economy is changing due to the West’s undermining and sabotage of economic, financial and agricultural systems, and as a result the list of countries that reject Western conditions is expanding, and their readiness to cooperate for the sake of all humanity is increasing.

In his speech today during the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok, Putin explained that against the backdrop of the West’s demolition operations, economic relations between different countries of the world are developing to build a system based on multipolarity, as they put their national projects in the field of transportation, industry, trade, etc., for the good of all peoples. Therefore, openness and striving to achieve results is the main factor of competition in the Eurasian region, which determines the pace of economic development.

Putin pointed out that the volume of trade between Russia and the Asia-Pacific region increased by 13.7% during the past year and by 18.3% during the first half of this year, indicating that trade and economic cooperation will continue to develop and that the Far East is a strategic priority for Russia in the twenty-first century and there are privileges at the level of customs and taxes within Russia to help business circles in the Far East.

Putin pointed out that the investment dynamics in the Far East are three times faster than the investment dynamics in Russia as a whole, as gold and coal extraction is increasing and only 35% of the metal fields and mines in the Far East are being worked on, which provides a guarantee for Russia’s strategic stock of raw materials, and work is underway to extend gas to the eastern regions to secure clean energy for them.

Putin explained that Russian businessmen faced the problem of seizing their resources, and those who do this do not understand the negative repercussions, and do not realize that this is the reason for the decline in dealing in dollars and the shift to settlement in other currencies, pointing out that freezing Russian resources was not a problem in itself, as the country was able to reap twice what was frozen from its gold and foreign currency reserves.

Putin stressed that production chains have returned to normal operation, and the national currency has returned to rise, so we must agree with business circles that working within Russia is safer so that we do not fall into the same hole twice.

In a meeting with the moderators of the Eastern Economic Forum sessions following the general session, Putin announced that Russia is working on manufacturing a new weapon that will be able to ensure security in any country. He said: “If we look at the security sector, weapons based on new physical principles will ensure the security of any country in the near future. We understand this well and are working to achieve it.”

Weapons manufactured with new physical properties rely on the use of qualitatively new or previously unused technologies and operating principles. These types include, in particular, laser, ultrasound, radio frequency, and other weapons.

It is noteworthy that the Eastern Economic Forum will be held in Vladivostok from the 10th to the 13th of this month, and is a platform for attracting investments to the Russian Far East region, and discussing the challenges facing the economy in Russia and the world.
